Internet Speed Test
Check your connection's download speed, upload speed, and latency. For the most useful result, pause downloads, streaming, and other heavy network activity while the test runs.

Five samples per measurement; transfers up to about 60 MB to Cloudflare.

How the test works
The test takes five unloaded latency readings, then five download and upload samples. A small latency probe runs alongside each data transfer to measure loaded latency. Speeds and latency use the median to reduce the effect of one unusually fast or slow request. Jitter is the average change between consecutive unloaded latency readings. The test downloads 50 MB and uploads 10 MB; speeds use actual transferred bytes and elapsed request times.
Some services use multiple simultaneous data streams to saturate very fast connections. This test uses one data transfer at a time to keep its traffic bounded, so it may report lower peak throughput on some high-speed connections.
How to check whether the result is representative
- For a baseline, connect your computer to the router with Ethernet. If testing Wi-Fi, stay close to the router.
- Pause VPNs, downloads, video streams, and other busy devices; close extra tabs that use the network.
- Run the test two or three times and compare the results. Then compare with your plan's advertised speed and another independent speed-test service.
No browser test can establish one universal “true” speed: results depend on the route and test server, your device, Wi-Fi, and congestion. This tool estimates the throughput available between your browser and Cloudflare's test network; it does not measure your ISP in isolation or guarantee peak plan speed. A large difference between unloaded and loaded latency can indicate that your connection becomes less responsive under load.
